Leupold scopes

I was just looking on ebay at some scopes and I was just wondering what the difference between the american and the ones from over sea's in the leupold brand. They list them as leupold but the price is half of what ours are in the states. Any ideas?
 
beware of counterfeit leupold scopes. they are chinese made junk. it makes me wonder why leupold is using more and more chinese parts in their u.s. assemlbled scopes. increasing the price and outsourcing to china is not the way to go if you care about the consumer. i guess living off your reputation is good enuogh for leupold. just my $.02

....our gov is in a difficult position....cracking down on counterfeit goods from red china...theft of our technology...infiltration of private and gov websites...and still having to borrow money from one of our enemies...leupold can't pursue this cause red china won't listen (and neither will our state dept)....
as far as,leupold's reputation...well,if they are using red chinese components in their optics,i'm hoping leupold understands the position they could be placing themselves in....maybe that's why the REDFIELD line is in place...to increase their bottom line against other red chinese brands.
 
So you actually think the counterfeit name on the scope gives it the quality of the real thing? Replace your wife's diamond with a cubic zirconia, tell her it is as good as the real thing and get back to us on how that works out for ya.
 
Well I just talked to my local gun shop owner. I mentioned to him about the leupolds I seen on ebay. Well he called his leupold rep and told him about it and he said they have never had a rifle scope imported but he did say some of the other optics(spotting scopes) were imported but anyway he said people or a company was selling rifle scopes as they were leupolds but just imported ones. Well Leupold must have got to the bottom of it because I just looked on ebay and there is no leupold (imported) rifle scopes on there. All I can say is there are a lot of crooks in the world. I hope they hang the p.o.s.
