I will throw my 2cents in, I have been on a 22-250 rifle over 35 years, learned a lot and still learning. My go to load for fur is a 52-grain match hp, H380 powder, SHOULDER SHOT, if I do not get that shot, most of the time he walks or runs. That shoulder soaks up a lot of energy and the entry hole is small. Can't remember the last time I had a pass thru. That load runs somewhere around 3250 fps, maybe a little faster, haven't checked it in a long time. In my younger days numbers of coyotes killed was more important than hide quality. The pride of having nice hides with small holes is refreshing.
I think "lite loads" is NOT the way to approach LARGE holes in hides... Marksmanship is the answer to those types of problems. YMMV....
