How long should I expect my battery to last on my Lightforce 140? Battery is properly taken care of/charged, and two years old. It lasted about 90 minutes the other night at about 50% on. I am thinking I need to replace my battery and get a second one while I'm at it. Thanks Chris

Hi Chris........

You should have the 1280 UB Battery, look on top of the Battery for its (Born on Date) just like the BEER..........

They should last 3-5 years past the Born-on-Date....

The Lightforce Battery warrenty is for 1 year only, along with the rest of there equipment (Bulbs and Abuse,Not warrented)

No #1 Lightforce Rule, No Recepit, No Warrenty........

When buying your New Lightforce product, take you Reciept and give it to your wife (They Never seem to lose things or Important Papers)as we do...........:)

The lasting of the 140 or 170 Night Hunter is the same with the stock GLO-7, 12 volt Bulb.....Just about 1 hour (Full-On) and 2-2 1/2 hours using the BPS correctly.....

The power differance and burn times are the Same, between the 140 and 170 is not the Bulb, but the Outside Housing increases the power of the light.......

The Burn time is Based on a Fully charged 8 amp battery.......at 70 Degs......

You can also extend you run time 6-7 hours using the BPS, by Installing a GLO-14 Speical 30 Watt,12 volt bulb, this bulb CANNOT be used with Large Bore (Rifles and Shotguns) the shock of the shoot will Break the Fillamant of the bulb and be useless.......

If you do this keep your GLO-7 as a Spare, or your Night-out will be a Dud........

When calling you need the lowest setting about 1/4 on the knob.on some you will hear a Humming Noise from the BPS (This is Normal) when your coyote or other critter starts coming your way......you only turn it up full-Blast for the Kill-shot, it will just stand there stunned at the bright Red or Green light for a few seconds, giving you time to aim and shoot...

Distance.........Everyone has there own Kill-Zone, this is where you can shoot and know you will have a 99% chance of Killing your Prey, with your light, Full-on........

Extra batterys are great to have around, for long night hunts, or mabye just a New GL-14 bulb is all you will need Depending what kide of Weapon you shoot.........

The GLO-7 bulb was made for all guns and shots sizes.....

Charging-----When hunting use your 12 volt car charger Between stands, it will boost your charge for a longer lasting night, the car charger puts out 1.5 amps or 1,500 Miliamps per hour Charge Rate.......

Cold Weather Charging--- when charging your Battery at home 110 volt be sure it in a WARM inviorment around 70 Degs, this temp will allow you to hunt to its fullest charge, if the Battery is charged in the cold it will not last very long......

when hunting in the Cold 40 Deg to 20 Degs, put a Hand warmer next to the Battery for longer lasting runs, 1 will do Usually, 2 if its Bitter cold, 20 and below to -54......they should last 6-8 hours, the ones Made out of Iron-ore Hand Warmers.....

The 170 Walkabout units come with the GLO-14 bulbs as a Stock bulb, becuase it comes as a 170 sl Hand held light, run Time is 3 hours full-on, and 6-7 hours using the BPS Time.........

Hope this Helps........

Good Hunting..........RickH2

Thanks guys!!! Got no responses for a couple days, then I get all the info I want and more! My lightforce is way out of warranty, and I do have the 1280 UB battery. After reading through your posts I don't think anything is wrong with my battery. I night hunt in heavy cover with a shotgun. My light is on a monopod and my gun sits on top of it. I think I would kill the Glo 14 bulb with my first shot. I will be getting an extra battery! Thank you for your replies.

Chris

Im gonna piggy back this post sorry. Will the lower watt bulb you refered to be compatable with the regular lightforce 170?

Hi CCW..

The GL-14 bulb 30 watt 12 volt, will work with any 140,170,240 Driving,Hunting packs or spotlights......and the Enforcer lights........

They just wont work with the HID's..........
