Linear comp or Thread protector?

I recently put a 300 blkout together. The barrel is a SOTA 16" with a very load brake on it. While I am waiting for the funds etc. for a suppressor, what do you all recommend? Just a thread protector or a linear comp? The brake is load!

I have the kies master blaster and it is great for pushing the concussion down range toward the target. A little more recoil, very minimal in fact by that is ok since it isn't a brake. I also like it bc it sends the flash down range as well.

I agree about the melonite, but I didn't want to wait and will just have it krylon'd black till I can have a more permanent solution found.

Brakes are loud, physics is a [beeep]. A thread protector or anything besides the brake will make the rifle quieter.

I put a levang on my bolt .223. It definitely doesn't make it a no-ears shooter but it's noticeably better than bare barrel.

It will be leaps and bounds better than a standard brake.

linear comp, Kies Blast Master..no regrets!! other than i live in a state that says no to ALL NFA items...commies! LOL

Just asked a similar question a few days ago. Seems like a linear comp is the way to go. Just wish the melonite 5/8-24 one would get in stock at Joe bobs.

Thread protectors are kind of expensive for what they are, and serve no purpose. I'd get the linear comp. You can always use it on another rifle if you end up buying a can for that rifle.

The Kies 5/8x24 linear comps in black "should" be headed our way next week from what we last heard from Kies.
