Linear compensator

I think the 3D pressure pattern is slightly more forward, but the recoil reduction is less than a typical 3 slot type.
I have used a couple, but they're not that impressive.

I had them on everything until I went suppressed. I had the XL Kaw Valley on a 18 inch 6.5 creedmoor & could shoot it 3 times before it got uncomfortable to my ears. With a side break it about blow my ear drums out coyote hunting.

What are you wanting to accomplish that is making you think of using one?
Less felt recoil and some noise reduction. I have a 243 that came with a muzzle break and I removed it after the first shot. I would like to try one but may wait to see if BATFE will change suppressor classification to an accessory and repeal the tax stamp and eliminate all the hassle of NICS and trusts ETC.
Thanks to all that replied(y)

With as cheap as linear comps are, just buy one and try it out. If the government changes regs on suppressors, then taken off. You are only looking at forty bucks or less. Doubt you will see much difference in recoil, though, and only slightly as far as noise reduction.
