Linear Comps

Do these things work at all? Wondering if they help with noise from shooters perspective to maybe save the ears a little bit when hunting non suppressed. I dont care if the yote hears me miss, just maybe less ear ringing for me or my buddy next to me?

I have them on my ARs, no, they do not make ear safe but do help. Ringing my ears stopped shortly after I realized I forgot to put on the muffs.
They tend to push the sound out front better.

Not ear safe for you or your buddy.
I have a couple that were tried but are now setting in storage bins being replaced by true brakes or a suppressor as needed.

All they do is carry the blast that much further away from yer ears. You can do that with a longer barrel too.
If yer are threaded & using something on the end of barrel, might as well use a linear rather than a side blaster.
I doubt there is any measured difference, except at the sides.

I've got at least a half dozen of them. They add a couple inches to the barrel, & with the forward facing holes around the perimeter, help a small amount to reducing the blast from short barrels. Fine for a shot here & there while hunting, but not an ear saver by any means.

I use them for thread protectors more than anything.
