LMT

My son got a new LMT AR 10 and I had the chance to run a few RDS through it. I liked the trigger and stock. Gun was tight and well made. I did not care for the red dot setup but did like the peep site set up that allows you use them through the red dot. It was a good shooting rifle 2 inches at 100 with iron sights and my old eyes off the bench. All in all a great 308 AR.

LMT makes a very good weapon and the two that i have played with all shot under moa. I like the fit/finish on my LWRC better, but the LMT is more fun to shoot. LWRC is a lot heavier recoil.

I did notice one thing that bothered me. The necks of the empties had a nasty 1/8 inch gash on them. Same spot even after cleaning. I looked hard at the chamber but couldn't see anything but it must have tool mark or something.

Where do the empties land? You could add some weight to the buffer to slow the carrier down a bit, or try an adjustable gas block or stiffer buffer spring. If the cases land near your 2 O' clock they are coming out really fast due to a lot of gas. This can beat the crap out of brass. Just some things to try, adding weight to the buffer or changing the spring would be the least expensive and easiest to try first. 3-4:30 ejection patterns are ideal.

Gun throws the brass 10 ft to the 3 o'clock. Since its a duty weapon I doubt he can do any modification. Too bad it beats up the brass.

My old eyes aren't what they used to be close up but it looked like it put a crease in the neck that appeared to actually put a small puncture in the neck. I should have saved one and sent a pic

I have quite pile of empty 308 brass from his M14 and past shoots I used it to reload for a rem 700 varmint. Its worked well so I don't have a shortage I just hate to see it get wasted.
