Anyone's load books have a load for the .55 grain Sierra Blitzking. .243 . I'm also looking for some good .243 loads in general. Hey Ackleyman, chime in here please. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Favorite deer load is 42.3gr IMR 4350 with a 100gr SGK. Shoots lights out in every 243 I've tried it in. Have dropped 6 deer with one shot kills so far.

Last 55gr Blizking loads I twisted up consisted of 50gr of H380. Not outstanding, but definitely worth a try. Maybe start a little lighter, and go up.....

Hi DuckDog!

I shot the 55's from 46.5-48.5g of Win 760 with a fed 210 primer or a CCI-200, with extreme accuracy and fast.

My 243's love several other load combo's:

70's (touching lands)with 43.5-44.5g of AA2700 or Win 760 with 210, CCI-200, or 9 1/2 Primer, this load shoots less than 1/2" in both of my 700's.

The Smack Dabber load for my 243's is 39.5-41.5g of IMR 4064 with a Fed 210 with an 80g Sierra Blitz BT seated to touch the lands @ 3450 fps! This bullet really holds up well to 400 yards on targets and shoots 1"- 1 1/2" out of my two sporter barrels at 300 yards.

For deer and fur friendly load for a 243, the 100g Hornady BTSP loaded with 42.3g of H4350 or IMR 4350 with a Winchester primer seated to touch the lands shoots groups that measure from .375-.450 in one sporter rifle and about 1/2" in the other sporter rifle (700's).

Both of my 243's have 6-24x44 Burris' on them.

While these loads are safe in my rifle, back off 2.0g and work up to them in your rifle.

Good luck!

I've had outstanding good luck with Sierra 95 grain Matchking BTHP with IMR4064
I've also had really good luck with Remington Core-Lokt 100 grain with the same powder.

Duckdog - I've always used the same load on coyotes and whitetail with very good results on both.

Load a 85 grain Sierra HPBT Gameking @ 3100 FPS using IMR 4064 powder. Sight in one inch high at 100 yards, and you will be about 1 inch low at 200.

Can't imagine needing to shoot farther on a called coyote. But for folks that like to shoot the 300 yard shots this loading will be about 9 inches low at 300 yards........ 'bout the same as my beloved 223 Remington, 'cept its still carrying 900 foot pounds of coyote stompin' snot at that range.

Great for short range whitetails (150 and in), and hammers the coyote hard, and will generally drop them on the spot even with a less than ideal shot we all get from time to time.

Nice to have one load do both. Boring to some I suppose......
