My stash of #4 buck Dead Coyote is getting low. I thought I would take the time and experiment some to hopefully find a cheaper or better alternative.

I’m looking for load data for nickel plated F shot. Any help would be greatly appreciated..

I use 1 7/8 oz F, 31.5 bluedot, cci 209m, rem rp12 wad, 24 grs #47 buffer, .030 card, rem highbrass, fold crimp.

For 1 5/8 its 35.5 grs BD going 1250.
For 1 3/8 its 39.5 grs BD going 1330.

This is Lyman data and knocks the crud out of them. I've flipped a few over at 50+. Patterns great with an 11-87 and wad stripper type choke.

I shoot the lead with 35g of blue dot with 1 5/8 oz, BP12 wad(two slits), BP gas seal

32g with 1 7/8 oz

Rem 3" hulls

carlson's turkey choke in a 11/87

If you can find any Federal 3" hulls, 2400 powder with 1 5/8 oz is doing 1350 and patterns very tight...gas guns only.

Coat your buckshot in Lee Alox for better patterns.

REALLY improve your patterns by powder coating your lead buckshot.

Just an FYI, but the sample of Plated buck I received from Precision Reloading was REALLY soft. The super buck from BPI was much harder. I was also able to heat treat the BPI Super Buck.
