Loading the 25 ACP???

I'm not loading it but I have been in the loading business since God invented dirt (just ask my 22 yo son how old I am

)... and I have never sold a set of 25 ACP dies, or met anyone that loaded 25 ACP, or even heard of anyone that loaded 25 ACP...

Any of you guys load it or know anyone that loads it????
 
I last shot a 25 when I was maybe 10. IIRC after 5 feet the bullet would tumble and randomly poke keyholes. I truly believe that round is so *perfect* that no hand load can improve upon it.

Do you think a person of your age could see well enough to load something that small?

Higgie, you keep makin' me laugh.

I don' wanna load it - I have always wondered who buys dies for it. All the die companies (except Forster) make 25 ACP dies, and I wonder... "WHY"????

I mean, if you got a 25 auto, you buy a box of ammo, and then leave it to your grand kids in 40 years - I mean, who shoots those things.
 
My thought is....why would anyone want, or need, to reload the 25ACP. I've got a neat little 25, an old Astra clone of the Colt, and I have carried on occasion when I couldn't find a place for anything bigger. But, can't see why reloading for it would accomplish anything.

The thread is not about why would any one load the 25 - it is just "do you, or do you know anyone that does" - it's that simple.

Kinda like a simple survey.


 
My buddy loads it and a 32 for his girls to shoot. Has for a while. Said he cannt wait for them to graduate from "baby" to 45 lol think he said 1-1.1 or so grains of bullsey I believe with a Fmj. Not possitive what gr bullet.

I have, still have the dies. don't know why or what I was trying to prove or improve upon. Was into making bullets at that time.

Your still a Newb Cat.

I have a 38 year old son and a 12 year old grandson. The 12 year old loads his own 9mm and does an excellent job of loading and shooting.

And the last time I checked he wasn't loading any 25. If he tries, I will pull his reloading permit for my shop.

A very experienced reloader I used to shoot with told me that he had tried reloading 25 acp one time. He said the pinched fingers he was getting seating bullets, made it not worth his while.

You mean Redding doesn't make a micrometer seating die with the little window on the side for the .25acp? How shameful!
 
it's possible I might have some 25acp brass, not sure. Might have kept it in case anyone wanted it. Never shot it much, wife had a pistol once. After it fell apart we threw it away
 
I was just thinking .......

At least Shooter didn't start a thread asking "What is the best .25acp self defense ammunition?"
