You could get by with a 1-8 twist if you were shooting at altitude with this bullet.

Good grief...

Quite funny as they are designed to be more user friendly in slower twists and not as COAL sensitive. Good thing we got this all cleared up!

BTW, the RPR in 243 is a 7.7 TW

OOOPppps, thanks for clearing that up, you are right.

No one needs to lighten up. People need to stop spreading incorrect information on internet and then arguing their point when someone comes along that actually knows the answer. Ive seen a chit pile of 8 twist 6mm run the pizz out of a 105 hybrid. WITHOUT being in the altitude BTW.

Brad,
You can always bring those 8-twist rifles back east here to the mountains and shoot with me.

Greg

High enough for all of my (8 twist) 6mm's to shoot 105 Hybrids.

I have Bergers in 90 match, 95 VLD and 105 Match, and just got a box of 105 A-Max. The 90's did well but I want to try the others.I don't mind the cost of bullets if they perform well. I don't have any 7828 but do have other compatible powders.

Well I have three 6 x 47 Lapua all with 8 tw
Guess I'll have to spin barrels off and replace

Not sure what to do with these bullets
Berger made a typo I guess

I live at about 600-700' ASL so I can't seem to get these bullets to group very well
Only a five shot group

The only book I go by is my data book, guess I need a new one

The reason I use 7828ssc is because it is pretty temp stable, I get better velocity even with shorter barrels and everywhere I go it's in stock. It's pretty much my go to powder!!! As far as Berger and twist rates it's a hit or miss. I've got a 10 twist 7wsm that while fireforming 270wsm brass I used Berger 180vld's, that according to Berger require a 9 twist mainly just to see if it would stabilize them. With a low charge I shot a 1.5" 15 shot group at 200 yards. But I'm also at 4500 ft elevation and it was 90 degrees out. I would imagine with your twist any bullet would shoot good except maybe the 115 Hybrid's!!!

The 24733 bullets are not listed on the Berger website. They list 24433 and 1 in 7 as the twist. So I don't know what is going on.

I guess when you buy them by the 100 they need a 1 in 7, but buy the 500 they need a 1 in 8. It appears that some people can get them to work. Sorry for the confusion.

Steve, the 140's jump .030 in my 6.5, but I'll have to check my book to be sure about the 105's.

So you're touting off information having never shot them, while refuting (previously) many others first hand experience.

I even got them to shoot in a 9 twist once the gas was poured in it. However, I found the 95 gr Classic Hunter easier to fit in the mag well, so I no longer shoot the Hybrids. 'Course, that was at 5000+ Asl.
