Long range bullet advice

Steve for the 6mm I've tried 10 in, kiss the lands and 10 off and can't tell much difference
I chose 10 off with the hybrids in my 6 x 47 Lapua, 6.5 x 47 Lapua and 300 WM

My 7 SAUM, the amount of jump is unreal due to the reamer used
But that rifle is a hammer. So my experience is the hybrids ogive design is conducive to various seating depths.

Jeff came and shot with me a few weeks ago and everyone, including my 13 year old cousin , was hitting steel at 1320 with the 7 SAUM

My 105 Hybrids have a .024 jump.
They've shot well for me in 4 different 8-twist barrels- 2 Kriegers and 2 Bartleins, and I live about 500 ft. ASL.
All 4 rifles have used the exact same load and the same setting on one FL sizing die.

Twist rates aren't just for the stability factor,,they are also set to maximize BC. If you want to maximize BC run the suggested twist rate....I will choose accuracy over maximized BC everytime. I've probably shot close 10 thousand 105 Hybrids out of a 8 twist and never had a stability issue out to a grand.

 
If you want to provide info to someone, provide useful info. There are plenty of guys on here stating facts...not copying and pasting info off of the internet. You think these guys are wrong? Come up with your load and your rifle that shoots 1000+ yards and set them side by side and see what works. The old saying about why we have 2 ears and one mouth is something more people need to recognize.

I live at about 600-700' ASL so I can't seem to get these bullets to group very well
Only a five shot group





The only book I go by is my data book, guess I need a new one
Buster were are the other 4 holes ? I wouldnt use em,there crap. LOL

This info provides evidence that the 8 twist is fine...even a 9 twist will stabilize at the right speeds.

With the Berger 105 H4350 or H4831SC will give you good load density and good burn in a 26" barrel.

I never stated anyone was WRONG. I found this way more interesting than "What's the best load for a 243" type post. The links I posted were not aimed at anyone. I found them interesting and shared them. My apologies to all especially to the O.P. I'm done with this mountain out of a mole hill thread.
 
I am hesitant to jump into this but I believe everyone is correct on the twist rates. Bryan Litz spent about an hour talking about the updated Berger twist rates and what was behind all of it. I am too poor of a typist to get too deep in the weeds but it was a great story and bottom line was while Bench Rest shooters want just enough spin to stabilize a bullet to 100-200 yards as that usually maximizes accuracy... Same reason they use flat based bullets as BC means little to them.

When going to longer ranges where BC is King then going to the faster twist rates (even faster than previously thought)will optimize BC at longer ranges when velocity falls off. The new magic stability number is 1.50 and when twist or conditions cause the stability number to be lower you will lose some percentage of the BC due to instability. This is from the latest book on the 105 Hybrid just in case some have not already seen it.



I feel like I am preaching to the choir with this bunch of shooters but it may be of interest to others.
By the way my 6mm is 1/8 and it shoots just fine to 1000 but haven't had the chance to go beyond yet.
