looking at 30 cal silencers now

204 AR

Well I picked up my rimfire can today, and was looking at what they had for bigger stuff. They had a couple SICO cans, a harvester and omega. I've researched just the threads on this site and saw a couple about those. What I'm gathering is that those are pretty good "budget" cans but there are better ones out there. Anyone that had one ordered get it back to add some input?

Uses will be light range work and hunting, mainly coyotes and pdogs as we can't hunt big game with one here yet. Even so that would only be a shot or two per year at big game.

Calibers go from 300 Saum in an AR and 270 Wby, (light use, seldom used), 260 in an AR, 24" barrel, down to 223, 20 prac, 204, and 17/223, all in ARs. Those get used much more than the bigger stuff.

I was leaning TBAC but lack of availability and price difference makes esp the Harvester look pretty attractive.

I don't do any competitive shooting, but don't want a can screwing up my groups or first shot poi either. Mag dumps don't happen here either. And I don't even pdog shoot much either anymore, but need to get back into it. That would by far be the most volume it will see.

What do you all think?

Look at the SAS Reaper or Arbiter. They cost a little more than Sico, a little less than TBAC and as good or better than both IMO. I've ran both for many years and with literally thousands of them in service are well proven by lots of folks.

Hit up RangerWalker71 here. He's a site sponser and actually sells all three brands for many years.

My 30 cal cans are a saker and a form 1 build. Ive been very pleased with both. The saker is a great can. I cant compare it to anything but a thunderbeast 30-p. It is just as good in accuracy and suppression though. My form 1 is quieter, but I had to build it..l! More work and baffles, so it should be quieter...

I Have a Full line of SAS suppressors ready to transfer to your dealer. Form 3's are running between 35-45 days.

It would appear that your use will mainly be on AR's, is that correct? Or a higher percentage?
The Reaper is a great can, But if your shooting more then 50-60% AR's I would look at the Resistor.
It was made for AR's. It will work great on a Bolt.
It was designed to eliminate most of the blow back on a AR.
Fell free to ring me at 816-718-9489
We can go over all your options and ensure you get the correct suppressor to meet all your needs.
Thanks

Unless I'm misinformed, cans are legal for all game animals in Nebraska.....?

I have a TBAC Ultra 9 on order. I just saw transfer from manufacturer to dealer has been submitted.

I agree, But Suppressed Armament Systems

Im looking at the reaper or the resistor, I have the sentinal already and hope to pull the trigger on my 30 cal can next week.

My question is wich one. I dont shoot ARs only bolt guns and it will be on 243 mainly but also my 280AI.

any advice would be great. Wish I could do a side by test but that isnt possible.

I looked at a LOT of 30cal cans...and decided on the Harvester. Budget, honestly, was one of my least concerns. I like the weight, and love the design with the interchangeable threaded end caps. The sound, for me, is quite impressive when compared to other cans in my circle of folks, to include an Arbiter and a TBAC Ultra 9.

Overall, I am quite happy with my choice.

If your actually going to use it on a hunting gun I run the Reaper. The shorter length makes it handier but it does give up a few DB. If your mostly using it for target shooting or hunting from a condo the Arbiter offers the most performance. I have both so I can tell you first hand my experience! Hit RangerWalker up for great pricing here on PM.

You can most certainly use a suppressor for any/all game hunting in Nebraska. I have a TBAC 30P-1 for my bolt guns that I love, but it's already not the newest/latest/greatest thing out there...
I would look hard at the latest TBAC offerings vs. the Omega or anything "Skinney" has to offer.

For the kind of shooting you explained the Harvester would suffice, and would have probably been my choice if it had been available when I was 'can' shopping.

Rangerwaker I will be buying it from Milehigh they treated me so great on my first can. Great bunch over there and its only two hours from me. Just looking for real world opinions on noise reduction. It will be used 75% time hunting and a little target. Im thinking for what Im needing the Reaper is the one.

Really, I was just under the impression big game was out. Did they change that recently? Good to know.

Also RangerWalker, you are correct, AR's are about all I shoot anymore, though I do need to add a long range bolt gun, maybe... I did just add an 18" 264lbc to the stable though. I've got plans that it will be my main hunting rifle other than when I want to save fur.

The Reaper is a great Suppressor You'll be very happy with it. Works great on a AR 556, Plus the added ability to shoot anything 30Cal thru it. Good luck. please post up once you get it. If you need anything let me know.

I'm in the same boat as you N8Will. I really want a tbac ultra can, but have been on list since February. I was supposed to get a harvester in, and was told they ordered some in on June first, but still no dice. I was going yo look at milehigh shooting to see what they had in stock. For me, repeatability and accuracy are big selling points.

87 I would head up and see, they have alot in stock. I was with you on the TBAC until I shot a SAS Sentinal. The SAS was cheaper and it sounded quiter to me and was lighter. I went to Jensens in Loveland to buy a TBAC and just was not impressed with that shop. After dealing with MileHigh they will have my business. I have had my Sentinal for a year now and love it, now time for a 30 cal can for the rest. Just wish I could test drive one before I buy but Im not worried its a can.
