I am looking at a buying a TC Pro hunter with a .25-06 barrel on it. What do you guys think and I would like to have input from the guys who have the Pro hunter rifle barrels. Accuracy?? Etc.. Thanks

I just got the .243 Pro Hunter barrel and played around with it for about 30-minutes the other evening with some handloads I had. Seems to accurate, but will need to get out to the range and experiment with some different loads and such.

I had the same question as you 3 1/2 weeks ago. I recieved several responses from several internet sites and the overall consenses was that the pro hunter barrels were shooting extremely well. I had 3 responses specfically to the 25-06 pro hunter barrel and all 3 were shooting at 1 inch or smaller groups. 2 of the barrels were shot with handloads and 1 barrel with factory federal.

I took the plunge and bought a pro hunter 25-06 barrel. It took me 3 days to find one calling every where east of the Mississippi.Th25-06 is the most difficult caliber to find.

Onenter that emailed me shot a Antelope in Wyoming at a 415 lazered yards with his.

They must have realy test fired my New barrel at the factory..took several cleanings to get all the copper out.

I don't have the Pro Hunter, I have the Encore in 243 it is a shooter with my hand loads I mean it will cut holes if you can hold it still, it's my predator gun.
I just bought my second Pro Hunter brand new in the box the other day with 3 brand new barrels in the package. Lucky find, rare. I now have a 223, 22-250, 243, 25-06, 300 Win Mag, 12 gauge Turkey and a 50 cal barrel for them. Love my T/C Pro Hunters.

It's a great set up
I have no factory barrels but have some from MGM
one in 22 Creedmoor and one in 444 Marlin (a re-bore from Jess)
both are accurate the 22 Creed shoots 1/2 and under with 90 gr Bergers and IMR 7828 SSC

Well I guess I'll be the nay sayer. Years ago I had an Encore with a bunch of barrels. The 25-06 was by far the worse as accuracy goes. I tried numerous loads, different bullets and powders. You name it I tried it. I called T/C and they said send it in so I did. Months later they sent it back and said nothing was wrong with it. Messed with it some more to no avail. Called T/C again and got nothing but the run around. I ended up selling it all off at a loss.

What I have experianced, T/C encore system can be extremly accurate. However, it does take a bit of effort to elminate the tolerances allowed to make it a switch barrel system.
Steps I follow ; trigger job, head space correction, pivot pin tightining.
