Looking for a decent muzzle loader scope for <$150

My dad is wanting a low power scope for his muzzle loader. He wants to stay under $150, but have a decent scope.

Does it have to be muzzle loader specific or could it be something like a rimfire or shotgun scope?

Any suggestions?

If possible, buy a scope for a muzzleloader. Stay away from a rimfire scope because they are not meant to handle that kind of recoil. You would be lucky to have it last more than one shot. If you can get up around the $250 range, Nikon and Leupold make a really nice muzzleloader scope. As I was told by many members on this site, "Buy good optics, and you will only cry once." If you spend $100 for three different scopes that don't last, your already in the hole. Buy a good scope like the ones I mentioned, and not only will you be happy with the purchase, you will have a lifetime of use with it. Oh....Leupold also has a lifetime warranty and excellent customer service. If you break it, they will fix it FREE!!! Happy hunting and good luck!!!

I have one on my 788 44mag in Leup QRW rings. Great scope for the price. I would put one on my muzzleloader in a heartbeat. It is light, short, and looks clean on a gun.

I agree. They're great scopes. I have one mounted on each of my 2 AR-15s. Like last year, when muzzleloading season gets here I'll move one to my Knight muzzleloader. I've got a Sightron ordered for the 6.8 AR, now I'll be able to leave the V3 on the muzzleloader.
The Sightron is another good scope for the money.

For about half your budget, You could buy a cabela's pine ridge 2.5-7 muzzleloader scopes. My advice is to stay away from the pine ridge "rifle" scopes but the Muzzleloader/shotgun model is of much better quality. similar to a Nikon Prostaff In my opinion. Good Luck!
