Looking for a guided rifle Mule Deer Hunt

Hello,

I am hoping someone has "First Hand" knowledge of an excellent outfitter in either Wyoming or Colorado where I might have a decent chance at a "good" mule deer buck.

I know all the precautions I need to take when booking a guide, but do not know the name of a decent outfitter in either state. There is no better recommedation than from someone who has actually been with a particular outfitter, therefore I am looking to the Forum for some help. I might be too late to apply in either state, but a name would be really appreciated in any event.

Remember: I would only be interested if you or your buddy has been with the guide so that I can ask the right questions when I talk to him.

Thanks in advance,

My buddies dad hunts with Elkhorn Outfitters. He took a giant MD in 2006. His picture was in a few ads in outdoor life mag. Everyone I know who has used them have nothing but good things to say.

I have never forked over the coin for a guided Muley hunt. Probably won't as long as I live here. I do know both of these guys and have seen some of the deer they have taken. Multiple deer in the 180 and up range. Alot of 200+ non-typicals come from their areas.

My acquaintence is Mike Pearce. And they have 400 class bulls from the Sugarite area, as well as B&C antelope.

Both of these guys should be able to get you landowner vouchers, but you may have to draw a tag and that would take a while. I would recommend buying the voucher if you have the choice. When you pay for a "Ranching for Wildlife" tag from an outfitter you will be likely hunting the rut.

Eastern Colorado doesn't have a ton of deer, but there are some frickin' hawgs out there!!! The cedar and choya country is tough hunting and it's alot easier if the deer are thinking with the wrong head!!

If you go this route, above all else remember this. CACTUS!!!!!!

Don't know if this helps but feel free to PM me if I can help.
