Well for the longest time I have been looking at the 6.5 caliber rifles For the longest time kind of had my heart set on the 6.5x284 Norma , which is a great round , but since I'm not rich and looking at the cost of loading that round I've been looking at the 6.5 Creedmoore , in a Savage Rifle . As far as reloading that caliber looks like brass would b quite abit cheaper , From what I have read its very accurate , but not sure it would b a thousand yd gun , but from all that I read that the 6.5 caliber is very accurate , if no know anything on the caliber or have one post up some of your groups , just been looking and like to know more before I make up my mind

I've got one in a DPMS rifle and would suggest it to anyone. I don't have access out to 1000 yards but have shot it to 700 with good accuracy. It's much easier to shoot at a distance than my 308. Ballistically its a toss up with the creed and the 260 if you ask me.

I have a 6.5 creedmoor and a .260. Both are 1000 yard guns. Both have 1-8 twist medium palma contour Bartlein barrels. One is long at 26 inches and the other is cut to 22 inches and usually wears a suppressor. One built on a remington action...the other on a stiller. The argument between which cartridge is better than the other is a waste of time. The creedmoor is nice due to some darn good factory ammo (140 A-max) but i reload so it doesn't matter. The creedmoor shoots a little better than the .260 but i like the stock a little better on it too (McMillian A-5). If we shoot a match and you win...it sure as he11 isn't because I picked the caliber today. I will say....I lean toward the creedmoor just because it shoots just a bit more accurate but that is a preference in rifle not caliber. Buy either one with confidence. Those 6.5's are a lot of fun.

I would never compare a 26" barrel to a 22" barrel for comparison, but that is just me.

not really interested in a 260 , I just want something diffent , already got a 6mm A/I it is a Rem 700 action rebarreled with a #5 Shilen barrel , and a trigger job done to the factory trigger , not many around here have or shoot the 6.5 creedmore or the 6.5x284 , and those to calibers is what I'm looking at ,at this time but always open to suggestions ,

The Creed will get you to a 1000 EASILY!
Simply put, there is no better factory match ammo at the price point, as accurate, deadly on game, and reloads as well as any other 6.5 in it's class.
Mine is a SA 700, Kreiger 1:8, 22" in a Manners MCST-A and hammers!
