Looking for quality hawk call

I've never seen anyone post one. I can build one if you don't mind a commercial voice/mouthpiece. I would assume it would take quite a while to design, build, and prototype a new voice. Starting with a commercial piece and mating it to a wood bell wouldn't be too tough to do.

The thicker JC products mylar voices work very well for hawk calls. There isn't much to them actually. But to buy 250 reeds for a couple of calls is a pretty big expense for most call makers. I made a couple from the reeds that came with my JC Products Sampler Pack, but my hunting "buddies" seem to have made off with them and I am left to use the commercial one /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

The Knght and Hale is a good one, and the one I carry in my calling vest. Pretty indestructable and works very well.

AllPredatorCalls has them and they are pretty inexpensive.

By the way Tony, I tried to get the voice out of my Knight and Hale call to do exactly what you suggested.

I am now on my second Knight and Hale call /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

How they glue them in is beyond me, but they are in there pretty good let me tell ya. Suffice it to say, if you are going to take a voice out of a call, the Knight and Hale would not be my first choice LOL.

Thanks guys!! I think I might just go with the Knight & Hale. Tony, I really love that little horn squeaker you made, my buddies really have tried to get it from me, but it ain't going nowhere!!

That was going to be my suggestion. I've never blown on a hawk call, and Al's suggestion on Knight and Hale will probably prompt me to go buy one now. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for the comments on the rodent distress call. If the reed gives you any fits, I got a whole bunch more of them.

Thanks...Tony

Once, but i was supplied with the voice!

here is what the call looked like. it is a quasi-reproduction of a commercial call. Will have to assume it works best in such a configuration.

Buy a Haydels crow caller, if you hold it sideways and blow into the reed it makes a hawk calling sound. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Hey Bryan,

That looks just like my Hawk call, you know the one on my lanyard! It works great!! I thought I told you that???
I keep this one away from the truck tire, always!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
