Looking to replace my old scope.

Looking to replace my old Weaver Model V12F with post and crosshair reticle. It is a 4-12x40. It is on a Remington Model 700VLS 22-250. I love the post and crosshair reticle but when the sun gets below the horizon, you are done hjunting. This scope has been a great scope it just does not collect the light like the newer scopes do.

So I thought I would ask you all here for some suggestions. Would like to stay under $400.
Does any scope company still make the post and crosshair reticle?

Added a pic.

I don't know of any off hand that use that reticle. It's a shame!

Maybe a German #4 would suffice?

You can get a Leupold VX II with a German 4 for about $350.

Other wise, if you are not set on the reticle, there are a HUGE amount of scopes available.

I would go with a 4.5-14x Buckmaster with the NikoPlex. Theyre running right at $300. Or a Weaver SuperSlam 3-15x42. They are $450 ish, but there are some special offers out there for $50 off.

Leupold offers a post & duplex reticle. You'll likely have to buy a scope and then pay for the alteration. Or custom order one from the custom shop, which would take longer......

Thanks pahntr. I have owned this gun for sometime now and just love it. I have always said that if I had to sell all my guns this one would be the last to go.
