Is this stock worth the price , I know it,s well made and all but do i need all the adjustments to get good head position on the stock or is the A2 stock good enough, i have seen these stocks and the are cool but do i need one to shoot an Ar well or is it something that each person is diiferent enough that it might be needed to get a good sight picture and I guess they weigh more ,is all this worth it in the long run for a hunting rifle .

They are very well made. I use one on my varmint/target lower. It is enough heavier that I would not want to carry it for hunting. That is of course a personal statement, and I have customers that do carry the PRS afield.

For actual hunting, I use the Magpul CTR. It is also very well made, and gives you the adjustable length of pull. Here in Minnesota, the white tail season can fall in a very wide range of temperatures. You may find yourself hunting with 7 layers of clothing on, all the way down to just a tee-shirt and a flame-orange vest. The CTR allows you to instantly adjust for any amount of clothing or length of pull.

I even have some customers that have an extremely long length of pull that opt for a butt-stock extension, and the CTR. The extension gives them an extra inch of length, and the CTR allows them to still vary the length depending on their clothing.

thanks Mike not thought about CTR stock might make sense not sure how it would balance had one on a bushy carbon and it wasn't to bad guess I will have to think about this for a while.

I put a CTR on my 458 Socom build it is great makes that seven pound rifle balance like a much lighter carbine. And the adjustment makes it pack well too. I can fold it down to just over 22 inches. I am thinking about getting one for the 243 WSSM AR, it has a 24"heavy barrel and a wt of ten pounds and it balances like a 2X6 I built it with an A2 stock and am regretting it, but the 3/4" five shot groups all the time make up for the wt and balance.

I had one also, and I swapped it out for an ACE skeleton stock. IMO, too heavy for carrying around hunting ... especially on an AR with a longer, heavy barrel. If you're shooting off sticks, the back doesn't have to balance out the front that much.
