Making 350 Rem Mag brass.

I picked up a little Rem 600 in 350 Rem Mag. You don't go down to the LGS and grab a bag of brass off the shelf, in fact you can't order it from a major online store. BUT, it is just a short mag. I made a couple with the 350 Rem Mag FL die.but it had a flaw in it so while waiting for the replacement I found a form die on sale and turned out 40 pieces of brass from range pickup 7mm Rem Mag. The form die makes it much easier as the cut off it right at the.shoulder junction and a tubing cutter doesn't work well so a couple licks of a fine tooth hacksaw while the brass is in the form die does the trick.

After chambering a few I will have to turn the necks slightly.

Fun project to keep a dandy old cartridge in the field. The original short mag.

I have a box of 158gr JHPs to.load for small game and five boxes of 200gr JRNs for big game. I have some 225gr SGKs and 250gr JRNs and a mold for 200gr RN cast bullets left over from my bowling pin days, I used to load them heavy in my 357 Mag for knocking bowling pins off the table,.they worked well. That should give me plenty to play with.

I used the form and trim die when I formed the .350 Mag. brass from the 7mm Mag. brass, cut the excess brass off with a hacksaw and then filed the casing flush with the die.
Then after chamfering, I ran the case through my regular sizing die and checked length and trimmed if needed.
I then cycled every one of them through a gun, even making up a dummy round, to make sure it would chamber before any attempt to load them, the one thing I don't have is a way to check the necks, fingers crossed on that one! Like I said, I donated them to a guy and did mention that I couldn't check the necks and that that was on him.
This is the load that I use-----CCI-250 primer
57gr. IMR-4895
200gr. Rem. pointed core lokt

Another load, that I like-------CCI-250 primer
but of no help to you. 56gr. IMR-3031
150gr. Rem. pointed core lokt
OAL is----- FITS IN THE MAGAZINE!

I have also loaded the 158 JHP and 250gr. bullets, never shot the 158's and would have to look for the boxes with the load data marked on them.
A buddy of mine with a .350 Mag. had loaded some 158's and shot at a water filled milk jug, I can see why they aren't recommended for deer sized game because they cause too much tissue damage!

I'll be loading the 158 over a light load of shotgun powder to duplicate 38 SPL/357 Mag loads.

I used to load 148gr DEWCs in my 358 Norma Mag.to 38.SPL velocities and they would shoot into clover leafs at 50 yards, I used it to hunt squirrels with it, you could eat right up to the bullet hole.

LOL----that's a new one to me, using a .358 Norma Mag. to hunt squirrels!!!
The ones I loaded were at rile velocities, the ones my buddy loaded were also at rifle velocities, probably not the best to use on squirrels! LOL !!!

I had to take a few thousands off the neck now they feed slick. I need to get to the range and fire a few to see how to set the fl die to headspace off the shoulder and not the belt for longer case life. It's fun working with the weird stuff..

I used a 300 Savage to hunt $100 fox, 170gr cast bullet, punched a 30 cal hole in and a 30 cal hole out, two stitches and you never knew it was shot.
