Making a Coyote Rug

I know that most folks like to tube skin their yotes, but i would like to try somethine new. I have shot a beautful mountain yote and i want to make a rug out of him that will either be on my den floor or wall. I want to have hime spread out, just like a bear rug.

How do you skin the coyote differently in order to make a rug? Also, After skinning, what steps should i take to preserve the rug? This is a beautiful Yote with deep reds all over his body. also, any suggestions would be awesome!

Skin it like normal and cut it out the way you want later. Im sure thats how the taxi's do it.

Cut down the back leg from heel down the back of leg and go between the tail and anus down the back of the other leg to the heel,then from anus down the center of the belly to the base of the throat and stop.You then skin from the heel of the front leg ,up the back of the leg and join to the belly cut.Do this on both front legs.That's it.If you have never skinned an animal's head and feet out for taxidermy purposes then you need to stop and take it to a taxidermist.Your going to have to anyway because to do it right it will have to go to a tannery and get soft tanned.
