Here's a snap of what I use for a beam. Like I said it's 7 feet long. The narrowed end allows me to pull the head or face of a hide down onto the beam and it holds it in place while fleshing.

 


This shot didn't turn out the best but this is the fleshing wheel I use. There is two brass round gaurds on the outside front of the unit, (left in the photo as you'll see). And betweem them is a real thin round blade that spins. The amount of cutting wheel that extends out past the two brass gaurds determines how thick of a cut is made with each swipe.

The user stands behind the unit (to the right in the photo)  holding the hide out in front of you, stretched between both hands, sweep the hide across the two brass guards from left to right. The flesh falls through the slot in front of and dierctly below the wheel.
