This was a new stand for us and a further walk than we usually do and since the wheel was invented we opted to implement said device. Amazing at the things you do as you get older to stay in the game!

It was a clear night with a temps in the high 40’s and the moon at 78% so we setup in the shadows of a freshly cut bean field as the combine was still harvesting corn on the other side of the ridge. There is a series of small fields running alongside the creek for probably a mile or so, we were HOPEFUL the new stand would produce.

Darkness fell and I laid into various distress calls, waited, and followed up with a lone howl, paused and waited. It was about 8:30 when I pivoted to my hard left and here come a yote down the field aside a little draw. Immediately I was on the “headset” coyote, then I mounted the rifle settled in, and squeezed one off as said coyote decided to empty its bowels. The muffled sound of the AR-204 hit home at 167 yards with a solid “thump” and the coyote went down DRT.
