I have a 25MN basicaly had a smith do a trigger job - shoots great. Marlins micro-grove rifling seems to favor the supremes 34gr up to the 40 grain ammo. Oddly it shoots better once the barrel is a bit fouled, not dirty, but after a cleaning I typicaly fire a 1/2 dozen rounds and then she's ready for hunting.
I realy like this rifle, its been very dependable. Done tons of hunting with it, squirrel, possum, racoon, fox, take it scouting, taught my kids to shoot with it. I've tried lots of different ammo. My three favorites are the Supremes, 34gr., W/super-x 40 gr jhp, & the Rem* 40 gr psp. The Rem* psp while accurate does not seem to perform like a typical sp. This is rimfire after all. What I mean is I haven't found it to expand like any 22wmr hp or fmj. But hey, since this is 22mag you can use that to your advantage because (imho) its less destructive on small game. The super-x jhp is a workhorse, plain and simple. For varmint control you may be hard pressed to find something better in 22wmr.

Supreme 34 gr hp
Remington 40 gr soft point
Winchester 40 gr jhp
All these were shot into 6" of wet phone books @ 50 yards and pulled.
Rem* - CCI now loads Rem 22wmr ammo, as well as Federal 22wmr.
Winchester has also moved their rimfire production. Not sure if this has hit the shelves yet but if I may offer one peice of advice; don't waist your time with the Dynapoints*.
Dynapoints* - aka Dynaturds, crapp welfare ammo.
