just traded a old bow for a marlin model 60 semi auto in 22lr shot it and love it put scope on it. wondering if there are any add ons out there for it like the ruger 10/22 thought it might make a good project for the winter.

Those Model 60s are great little guns!!

As far as aftermarket stuff...not much out there compared to the 10/22.
I know there's a couple different styles of synthetic stocks. But I don't know of anything else.

There are a few mods.....a few different stocks and barrels. You can find them at rimfire central. I own a few of both the 10/22 and the Model 60 (or variant of such). Truth be known the Marlin is far and away a better built gun. With its straight line bolt return spring, twin extractors, Micro-groove rifling and tubular magazine it is really my first choice.

I believe its the same as The Glenfield Model 60 that was sold by Sears, Montgomery Wards and a few other places. Its a great little semi-auto, and holds 18 in the tube and one in the chamber.. I wont give up mine! Good luck...

I dont know of many aftermarket parts but I never looked for any either. I love my Model 60 just the way it is. I have had mine for over ten years without a problem. Functions perfectly everytime I take it out with thousands of rounds fired down the tube. Im my opinion the best .22lr out there. Far better than any 10/22 I have ever shot. Good luck finding what your looking for. Josh

I put a cheap Bushnell scope on my model 60 many years ago and figured out the tip of the thick point where the reticle tapers is dead on at 100 yards for Winchester Power Points. Not so long ago I was at the range when a guy showed up bragging about his decked out 10/22 with a heavy barrel. I had my model 60. I started busting up clay pigeons at 100 yards, then breaking up the little pieces, and hardly missing. Big mouth could not keep up; I said nothing. Next time I was at the the range that guy showed up with a model 60. No kidding!

I paid $60 for that gun at a pawn shop about 18 or 19 years ago. At one point I had 2 of them. Compared to my other guns I am not nice to them, I hardly ever clean them, and they just keep going.

I wore out my old model 60 after about 50,000 rounds.
It will now only cycle mini-mag ammo. (vinatge earily '80's)

That sounds like a lot, but it is only about 100 old bricks... still wicked accurate though.

I cut it down and refinshed the stock for the 4th time and gave it to my son for a rabbit rifle.

The M60 is a pretty good gun, especially for the money. There are some parts that will wear and you need to keep them clean for reliable functioning, but all in all for the money it is a tough gun to beat for an inexpensive .22LR semi-auto. I used to know an old feller that pretty much kept the "ice box freezer" full of squirrel, rabbit, and I have no doubt he killed the occasional meat deer and turkey with it too. He also kept the coons, possum, and coyotes respectful around his home place with that old gun. In fact, a feller about 25 miles from my house had a commotion at his house one night. He grabbed his M60 loaded with CCI Mini Mags and flipped the back porch light on. A black bear was chasing his dog around the back yard. He stepped out on the porch and shot a couple shots in the air, but that didn't impress the bear. However, the next five shots through the ribs did impress the bear and it ran off. The next day the Sheriff's Department and local Conservation Agent found the old boar dead as a door knob about 250 yards from the house. That old boar weighed near 400 pounds. Not bad performance from a $150 .22LR!

my dad bought a marlin 60 from k-mart nearly 30 years ago.

other then some minor rust pits the rifle shoots and kills gophers just like it did when i was 7 years old
