Marlin X7 and Remington 783 barrel compatibility???

Quick background, I bought a marlin x7vh in 22-250 while in college. My budget was low but I wanted a heavy 22-250 so it fit the bill. Didn’t expect a whole lot but ended up being very surprised. It shot superformance and win white box in real small groups and does extremely well with handloads. I have had it for about 10 years if I remember right and it has killed a lot of coyotes, shot a lot of paper/steel targets and has went on 2 pdog trips now. I am not sure how much life the factory barrel has in it so instead of buying a new rifle I thought about putting a new barrel on it. My guess is that with the 2 trips and all the shooting it likely has 1500-2000 rounds through it now and even though the groups are good they aren’t like they used to be.

So here is my question...does anyone know if the rem 783 prefit barrels are a direct replacement?

Savage barrels are supposed to fit, some say with some minor firmest and some say none is required. McGowen makes a direct fit but I have had bad luck with them in the past. If the 783 barrel fits, it opens my options to criterion, x-caliber, preferred barrel blanks, etc.

Lookin at them, they are very similar actions and I even put a 783 timney drop in trigger in my X7 before our pdog trip this year. Perfect fit, no issues and breaks at just under 1.5 lb.

If anyone has any insight it would be much appreciated!
