Marlin xs7 in .243

Good morning and hello, I'm looking for an entry level rifle to fit my sis into, used for smaller big game hunting and I've stumbled upon this set up. I'm a bit intregued as I haven't read a bad review on this rifle and I am impressed with the option of a youth/womens sized stock, the adjustable trigger and so on. Anyone have any input into this set up? Also the particular one I'm looking at is a combo with the marlin 3-9x40 scope, any experience with that scope, total junk or the other? I do not want another rifle suggested as I own or have experience with the remingtons, savages and this rifle seems to be the american made one I'm looking for. Just the good or bad. Thanks all.

My gf has one in 243. Never shot it. But it feels quite a bit better than her savage edge in 7-08. I do wish the cartridges were reversed though.

Action is pretty smooth and seems to lock up tight.

I think for the money, you could do a lot worse
