MFK Sounds

Figure while we are all here bored waiting for cooler weather it would be a good time to talk sounds.

Dont see much talk about MFK on here, although quite popular on other forums/groups.

So those who do use MFK sounds, whats your favorites for coyotes?

Roo Excited Female, BooRoo Pair Howls, Boonehill Lone Howls, Boone What's Up, Boone lone Whine Howls, JiggySmack Pair Howls, C'mere Lonely Howls, Submissive Beggar, Sister Pair, Fireball Big girl Happy Pair, Sidekick Pair, Table Scraps, Pound Town, 5 Week Boone Pup, Lil B Ready, Sexy Lil B, Lonely lil B, Lil B Hot Female, Goody Woody Woodpecker, Thrasher Distress 1 & 2, Just to name a few! Lol...

Categories and an organized file system for starters. Keeping them straight isn't as tricky as you might think. You tend to remember the ones that produce consistently as well.

Ahh categories… dont get me started on that. Foxpro doesnt tell you in their video that you can just edit the text file and make all the categories you want, and simply list the sound # instead of spending hours moving sounds around one at a time with the app. They got me the first time, spent 2 hours in the foxpro tool moving sounds. Second time i made a spreadsheet of my sound list and now i can make/move categories in a few seconds.

Yeah, the FoxPro sound tool isn’t the most intuitive thing out there. Once you fight with it a few times it isn’t unusable, but it leaves a bit to be desired. I’ve heard rumor of their latest version on the new callers is a big step in the right direction. I’m just not ready to drop good money on the latest and greatest when what I have works just fine.

If you put 50 favorite sounds in your favorites on the Foxpro remote you shouldn't have to go looking for sounds that are not in your favorites sounds very often.

On my Foxpro remotes I have my 18 most used sounds on sounds 1 through 9 and sounds 42 through 50. I can get to these 18 sounds very quickly. Sounds 1 through 4 are my emergency pre-set sounds that I want to go to instantly.

MFK, Pound Town and Table Scraps sounds have worked great for me.

I need to branch on my sound usage......

I have the 4 presets I probably over use, starting with a lighter sound, a little more for #2, a little bit more for #3, & end on the louder #4.

I will play around with different tunes later on with no action though.

I use a lot of different sounds. Being in the northeast, (New York specifically) I don’t have hundreds of properties or unlimited acreage to call. My spots get hit several times each throughout the season. Some by other callers. For these reasons I try not to get habitual with the same old sounds. Having lots of different sounds is beneficial here.

I run coyote vocalizations very heavily and have my best success with them. I do run prey distress as well, but I love it when I get those vocal responses I get when running vocals on my e-caller or hand/mouth calls.

When other callers ask me what’s working I always tell them I’m just running rabbit sounds. I honestly rarely run rabbit sounds on my e-caller, but I’ll hammer out bunny sounds on hand calls now and again.

But then you have to remember what all the crazy mfk names actually are!

I have quite a few sitting in my cart right now, both of those sounds are there because i see the foxpro guy in Kentucky use them a lot.

I just bought a new call, saw the program in the files but didnt click on it and used my current version on my PC instead. I will have to check that out and see if it is different.

I will say the USB C connection on the caller is a huge step forward, dont need to keep that special cord laying around anymore. Just wish the battery was chargeable with USB C also, but i can see where that would be confusing on which port to use for which.

Well i grabbed the caller and ran the program installer, it updated my foxpro utility but the same “shortcomings” are still there. Can only move or remove one sound at a time when working with categories

Sorry BBK… not sure which caller you have. The upgraded utility may be just the top tier callers that run the new TX2000 remote. I think they’re the X48 and X360. Then again, maybe I’m completely wrong altogether? Like I said… I heard rumor! Lol

Its a shame, it would be so easy to program and update… i dont know why they have not fixed it. It sucks trying to reorganize 250+ sounds one by one

I'm not sure why there is a need to reorganize your 250+ sound list for different categories. Just make new category and add the sounds you want to that category using the sound tool.

What about deleting from a category? Its one at a time. Click sound, click remove, click next sound, click remove etc… want to move/reorganize within the category? You are moving one sound at a time one space per click… like you said deleting the whole category and making a new one is the quickest, but now you get to sort through 250-1000 sounds to find the ones you want to add back.
