I want a new gun. I am set up for reliading .223 already for my encore 223 15 in open sight bbl. are MGM barrels good? I priced what i want a 24" .223. 1/8 twist full bull bbl with 6 flutes. It is $515. Seems reasonable as long as they are good barrels I have a trigger done already on my frame are these barrels known for accuracy? I am looking for an accurate. Bbl for. Crows. Woodchucks and predators. I could save more and buy a new bolt gun but I want my budget to be under 1000 WITH optics. I can shoot well so I want a barrel that can out shoot me. Is this a good direction?

MGM uses Shilen barrels IIRC. There fit, finish, and accuracy is top shelf. If you like the T/C platform, MGM is one of the best places to get a custom barrel. You will like it.

Have MGM barrel for my Encore Tight neck 20BR. Top notch workman ship. It is a Shilen tube and can shoot way better than I can. Nice peeps to deal with also.

Like 65x39, my MGM barrel (a 13" .30-30 Ackley) will shoot better than I can hold it. If you like the Encore, I don't think you'll be disappointed in MGM barrels.

I talked with the owner of MGM at a gunshow. He said they use Shilen as well as Wilson barrels. I bought a 6.5 Creedmore that shot factory Hornady ammo in a 1/2 inch the first trip to the range. The owner replied that if the barrels won't shoot, I'll replace it with one that will. Great barrels!!

Yes they are worth the money the only thing is if the dont have it in stock its a 15 weeks or longer wait on some of there barrels. I have 2 and my third is ordered i really like the shilen tubs
