Hello gentlemen. I'm pretty new to predator hunting. I'm based in Central Michigan and was wondering if anyone would like a coyote hunting partner this winter. I pretty much have all the necessary equipment to hunt coyotes/predators, but I'm pretty green; looking to learn and get better. It's my last semester of grad school and am gonna have more free time starting in January.

Hello, I’m here in Michigan as well.
Live south/East chesterfield twp but do a lot of cat hunting in north/central and north/east. We also take a few coyotes up there every year, I do not hunt night but if you’d like to meet up for daytime calling reach out and I’d be happy to set something up.

Thanks for the offer @Harrisoncat. I will definitely hit you up later this winter. I grew up, on a farm, in the Thumb of Michigan. I'm pretty familiar with that area, lots of farmland. I have a few places we could try up that way, if you're interested.

No problem @Harrisoncat. I graduate grad school on December 15th and then I am headed to Texas for 2 1/2 weeks for a little R&R and to visit family. I won't be back till the 3 or 4th of January.

Anyone in central Michigan interested in joining up and doing some predator hunting together. Have made 3 stands in the new year, haven't seen or heard anything.

Was pretty cold here in Michigan this weekend. Made 4 sets but didn't see or hear anything. Anyone go out and make sets?

Winter storm here in Mid Michigan , Friday - Sunday afternoon. Got 12" of snow and 35+ mph winds at my place. Was -20* this morning when I left for work. Never see much activity during a storm or the day after, but day 2 is normally really good !

According to our 20+ years of activity notes, Red fox should be looking for love any day now.

Just packed my gear, hitting the back roads in the AM . Deep snow ,tracks will be easy to locate !

I made 3 night sets. Didn't see anything. My search continues. Tell me more about that 17-204. What action are you using, what barrel, load?

Keep after them, it will happen. I don't call much these days ,but I get pretty serious about tracking them.

Rifle is built on a Remington 700 action, Pac-Nor barrel 9 twist, Rem mag contour. McMillan Game Scout stock.
Leverevolution powder and 30 gr Berger MHP. Have to check my notes , velocity is around 4100ish ,IIRC.

I got a Ruger American Gen 2 chambered in 204 Ruger about 10 days ago. Got it sighted in on Saturday, shoots the factory ammo pretty well but I'm gonna get a load worked up with the 32 grain V-max bullets and TAC powder.
