micro dot / ultra dot scope

My local gun shop has a micro dot 4-12x56 rifle scope. It has a 1" tube. I've never seen one before. Anybody know anything about them?

Ultra dot made a line of rifle scopes several years ago. IIRC, they were made in Japan and had a simple fine crosshair reticle with an illuminated dot in the center. They were good quality, high contrast scopes. I guess the market for that type of reticle was small to keep them in production.
