Midway USA Deals

Good luck...yes. But in the last 18 months I have placed three orders and felt I got hosed on shipping, they have increased substantially in the last three or four years. I guess ol' Larry has to pay for those huntin' channel evening sponserships somehow. There are alot of places that are offering free shipping nowadays if you purchase X amount of dollars. However Midway does have things that are difficult to find elsewere.

Just my opinion, but you know what they say about those.

Well said, Larr ain't in the promo mood theses days. USed to get a 10% off "happy birthday" email. This year I got a email(week late) saying happy birthday, think of us on your special day.

Right Rowdyrawhide their shipping has gone through the roof! I ordered $60.00 worth of stuff and the shipping was $12.00! nothing large or heavy either, what a savings when the shipping is 25% of the order. Also I always thought they had the largest selection but I guess it isnt if 1 out of 4 items you want to order is "out of stock". I've been ordering more from Natchez

i go over to snipershide forum as they have a running thread with the latest midway codes (if there are any).

Larry's excess shipping is getting to me too. On one hand he ships blazing fast and I like that, but can't tell you how many times I have filled a shopping cart but end up abandoning it when the insult of their shipping cost appears.

I have bought from them a lot, good service. Shipping costs are up every where. I ship UPS and Fedex and they are not cheap. If you want to blame someone blame the EPA. The EPA has gone nuts the last two years.

MidwayUSA has saved me money on many thing and I pay no sales tax. That helps with shipping cost.

I wanted a Bushmaster upper, Bushmaster charges sale tax even if you do not live in Maine plus shipping. MidwayUSA save me $200 on the same upper and no sales tax.

I also buy from Cheaper than dirt and Sportsman guide.

At MidwayUSA if you put a item in your wish list they will email you when it goes on sale.

Midway is losing my business.

I went to purchase a dozen Canvasback duck decoys, at the
end of this last season. Midway had the best price, but
at checkout, the Shipping costs were horrific. I went to
another internet vendor, which had the same decoys, a couple
of bucks more on the price, but their shipping costs were
MUCH lower. To the tune of $20 lower on the bottom line
of the order. So I purchased them at the other vendor, and
being a loyal Midway customer, sent them an account of what
happened in their loss of business, thinking they might be
interested where they were not competitive. After a form
letter like reply, from a CS person, I sent a reply
emphasizing I didn't care about their policy, or practices,
they WERE NOT competitive when their excessive shipping fee
was added to the order. To paraphrase the Midway reply, "Oh
well it is what it is". So I just shop for the stuff I want
to purchase, and get to the shipping, on the stuff I want to
order, at multiple internet vendors, and complete the deal
with the lowest price. So far Midway has not won one of those
contests. Sorry Larry, until you get competitive on both
price and shipping costs, you will be losing in my marketplace.

Squeeze

I used to buy a lot from Midway, now only something that is on sale, (if it is cheaper) than others. have found things at others. Also noticed these last couple of years, what made Midway great was the shooting supplies. Now there aren't as much to choose from and they are into other things more. Just like Bass Pro, Cabala's, they have turned into the more lucrative market of clothing. Like Bass Pro and Cabala's foreign junk. lots of (what I call) trinkets.

I ordered or ATTEMPTED to order close to a thousand bucks worth of various items in the last 3 weeks. What I'm finding is that the word BACKORDER seems to be the norm for everything I am needing these days. Cabelas is especially notable for this. Seems like a twisted form of false advertising if you ask me. Why advertise the freaking stuff if you don't have it and have no clue when you will??????

I was thinking about odering a DPMS lo-pro Heavy Barrel Upper that they have on sale for 359.99 plus 13 or 18 shipping. If anyone else knows where I can get the upper let me know.

Shiiping is high but extremely fast. I ordered a die last night @ 6pm west coast time and it was at UPS and on its way before I crashed out at 11PM. Pricey but fast. They were also the only online store that had it in stock.

i use midway for some stuff but as always you need to shop around. there shipping prices have made me cancel orders before.

I called them the other day on there convienience fee. I bought a 12$ fleece mask and they charged me 12$ fee for not spending more than a certain amount and then had crazy shipping on top of that. I ended up canceling my order because the 12$ face mask was going to cost $25 by the time I was done and I can get it for that at a local store.

One huge advantage MidWay has IMHO is their website is far and above better than most of their competition. Their search engine is good and they way they are organized is excellent.

Unfortunately for them, their cost is typically way higher as is their shipping so I navigate through their site to find part and model numbers and then take it to other sites to find prices and availability.

Once in awhile though, they have a nice special and I'll buy from them. It has dropped off a lot though.

I really like the deals Natchez has and for reloading components, MidSouth is hard to beat.

If you have a lightweight order, Brownells has a lightweight shipping fee, about $6. Otherwise as said already, shipping is up everywhere. The formula for shipping is based on dollar amount, not on weight, Cabelas does the same thing.

I usually choose Midway first as the website is user friendly, I can stack my goodies for later purchase, shipping is fast and prior experience is great.

I forgot, you are also paying for the box, tape as well as postage. Not like wrapping you Ebay sales in a mismatched box and sending it thru the Post Office.

I like midway, shipping prices are high, but they have a good deal on hornady 22-250 bullets. I got bullets, a scope and a bipod from there for Christmas. Shipping was expensive but it came fairly fast.
