Have you seen or heard of Millett scopes. This is the same outfit that makes top quality scope mounts. If they make scopes of the same quality as their mounts they should be worth looking at.

I have a millett red dot on my ruger 44 mag redhawk have not had it long enough to make a solid evaluation of it yet but so far i am liking it pretty well .....

Hi guys,
Welcome to the board. By looking at their price range, they would be in the same ballpark as Simmons, Tasco, or Bushnell lines. Quality lens are expensive and therefore would not be expected in these lines. If this is your budget range, I would try to find someone who has one and compare it in the field to the others in the same price range to see what is best for you. If it will hold zero and you can see well at the distances you will be shooting, it should work.

SteveM, I'm looking for an inexpensive scope for my truck gun. One that gets left in the truck & won't cause a major financial problem if it's stolen. It has to be reliable & accurate. I know guys who swear by Tasco WC in 3x9 but they have gone out of business. I don't shoot many PD's so I don't need a big glass, something smaller about 2x7 or 3x9. I've heard Sightron make good scopes but have never seen one. I thought as well known as Millett is for their mounts they would market a good scope if their name was on it. Just looking for someone that has seen one or used one. I live in the sticks so I don't have access to many retail outlets.

I hear ya! That is a hard one to call with the relieable and accurate tacked on. Most of these inexpensive lines cut corners to make them affordable. Any of them you mentioned will probably work for what you want. The main problem I have seen over the years with these lines are being able to hold a zero when knocked around. However, some of these are pretty good but you just have to find a good one. I believe Tasco was bought up by Bushnell. I would suggest goin over to the Firearms and Reloading board and post this question again. Lots of guys on there have or use the type of scopes you are looking for and they can be of more help. I don't use anything less than a Leupold and their new lines have come way down in prices. These guys can give you prices too. I am gonna have to check out some of these lines to see what they have to offer.
