Mini-mauser

I picked up a little jewel this morning at a gun-show. It's an Interarms Mark X .223. It's got some bluing wear and the stock has some scuffs and scratches, but the bore is excellent and the action is smooth as glass. I got it home and took it out of the stock to clean it and guess what, it's got a Timney trigger. The action looks identical to the Charles Daley mini-mauser but a lot slicker. Any one have any experience with these guns? How about finding a replacement stock?

Okiedigger you have found a jewel I've had one for over 12 years and it shoots great I bought it as a barreled action and put a Fajan laminated stock on it. They have since gone out of buisness (I think) but Boyds sells them and make a good product. You won't be sorry you bought it!!

OKie:

What you purchased is one of the old Interamrm Mark X Mini-mausers previously imported by Interarms from Zastava of Yugolsavia. They impported a full size commercial 98 Mauser action/rilfes as well as the Mini.

Duirng the Serbian War in the 1980's/early 1990's, the US State Deaprtment stopped the importation of the Serbian made actions, barreled actions, and rifles.

Several years ago Charles Daly secured State Department approval to begin importing them again. These were sold under the Charles Daly name. Several months ago CD announced, and now Remington has announced that Remington will be the importer for these Zastava actions and rifles.

Overall quality of the Mark X stuff was pretty good, but I've seen mixed reviews on the CD and now Remingtot stuff.

I hope you enjoy your Mini Mauser as well as I do mine....I liked the first one I bought so well I added another to keep it company. My brother was impressed enough that he found one for my nephew. They usually shoot great! The first one I bought didn't perform as well as I thought it should have, so I used it to build a custom switch-barrel rifle in .221Fireball/ .17/222. It has Shilen barrels and a Richards laminated thumbhole stock. It shoots like one is supposed to now. They have a great adjustable trigger from the factory too. If I were to find another one at a reasonable price, I will probably have it too. These are the kind of toys a man just can't have too many of!

Richadrs Microfit Stocks is/was in CA. He may have sold out, but I still see ads for the same stock I have. Try Elk
Ridge Stocks, Grants Pass Oregon if Boyds doesn't have what you want.

I think McMillian has some stock for the mimi-mauser. I've got one was factory chamber 7.63x39 send it out to Hart and had them redo it into a 6ppc. Last gun show when to they had a mimi-mauser 223 think the price is around $350 in our neck of the wood for one. Good little rifle. Well good luck.

Well guys, I think I have a new favorite toy. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif Took the little beauty out and shot it today and she's quite a shooter. The most accurate load was 26 gr. Varget under a 40gr. Ballistic tip. Groups averaged right at 1/2" @ 100 yds. One 5 shot group measured 5/16".And that was shooting straight into a 15-20 mph wind.(Typical in Western Oklahoma)Not bad for a 6 1/2lb carbine. BTW, I paid $300 for it, shoots about as good as my $600 77VT, and its no slouch.
