Can someone please clarify the fox season for me in Minnesota. The season is stated Continuous Thru March 15. Does this mean Foxes are still legal to hunt and shoot? How do you read the regs? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

Continuous means from the start of the season, 24 hours a day to the end of the season that, by the way closed on March 15th. So you are done until next fall.

be carefull were you get your info. If you check with the DNR they will explain the rules. The reason the season has an end date of March 15 is because your license is only good until march 15. After the 15th you need a new license for 06. Continuos is year round. There is no start date like there is for gray fox etc.. The reason there is no end date for things like coyotes is because they are listed as non protected and residents do not need a license to hunt them. Fox are protected therefor you need a license which ends Mar.15. Continuos has nothing to do with day or night times. these are listed in a seperate column in the rules and regs.

str8arrow,

You are exactly right. One must be careful where they get their info. For example, you are wrong.

The season ends March 15th because that's when the season ends. You needed a new license on March 1st, not the 15th.

The red fox season is NOT year 'round.

Check it out.

Randy

Correct.

If I read it right, the Fox season opens on 9/16 or 9/17 as part of the small game season and runs until 3/15 2007.

Is that what everyone elso understands to be the season?

This comes off the DNR website:

Furbearer - gray fox, badger, opossum season

Date:

09/17/2005 to 03/15/2006
