I riveted [2"x2"]galvanized snow pans & added a couple screw/cleats, for prone shooting on hardpack snow/ice.
Works very well, no sliding, firm rest.

Those are very NICE! DoubleD.

I do alot of prone shooting. Have for many yrs. For yrs, I just held my rifle. I also used[when shooting on picked corn] "Corn stubble", as a vertical stabilizer, like a mono-pod.

Around 9yrs ago, I bought my 1st AR & Versa Pod model #1. The skid feet would sink on soft snow. So a few yrs ago, I riveted pan's on the feet. Worked very well, for holding my AR near the top, of the soft snow.

Recently I added, a couple of sheet metal screws for better stablization on hardpack & iced snow cover.
