I'm looking to get a mojo critter decoy and want to know if it's noisy and how well it has worked for anyone who has it.

Thanks, Jimbo

It looks effective! I watched the video on their website and those yotes come right up to it. I guess I'm going to get one. I've used the weasel ball for a while and it has worked but I think it has also spooked some coyotes as well because it does make some noise.

Watch the guys from Bucking the odds they are a sponsor here they have some great videos using it.You can just click on there link and they have a part on there page to see the videos.

Bought mine yesterday. Almost... but not quite silent. HAven't used it yet. 39.99 at a local sporting goods store. 39.99 at cabela's. probably 50 dollars on ebay when the bidding is done.

The critter has been upgraded on the new ones with a new style switch. I researched before I bought mine and everyone seemed to complain about the old switch a ton. I would suggest you just buy a new one and not one from ebay that may contain the old switch. Everyone that complained about the switch, and put in comments about how they bypassed the wiring and made their own switch. I am not the technically savvy, so I just opted for a new one with the new switch. Just FYI...also I love mine, really takes the attn off you and your setup. They seem to be drawn to the motion.

Thanks for the info. I think mine is the new model but not sure. I looked on Mojo's website and the current model number they have matched the model number for the one I bought on ebay. I can't wait to get it, from what you all have told me along with the videos I've watched, it just can't be beat.

i have the old model an have never had a problem with the switch, just position it so i does not bump anything when carrying. no big deal. i put a few drops of silicon oil on the spinner and it livens it up. i also cut off about 1.5 inch off the decoy spring and you get more action from it. lengthen the spike with some all thread to get it up more and visible. good decoy, better than my quiver critter i had bought originally a couple years back.

I bought a new style Mojo Critter on eBay about two weeks ago for 34.00. At Cabelas yesterday looking for calls and they had some in stock for 39.00.

I have only been able to use mine once but it is really quiet. You really can't hear much even when it is turned on in your hand.

I just got mine today and plan on using it tomorrow. The top was broken before I even got it out of the package but I used some epoxy to repair it for now. MOJO is sending a new one. I will let you all know how our hunt went with it.

Does any one know what the circuit boards are called that they use in the mojo to create the intermittent control for the motor? I would think you could get one of those at a electronics store.

My guess is it is probably an astable 555 timer circuit like his one Astable 555 Timer Circuit with a transistor attached to the output (pin 3) of the 555 timer. You might not be able to buy one, but you should be able to get the components to build one at any Radio Shack store.
promapper is taking a picture of the circuit board out of his Mojo decoy and I should be able to let you know for sure what type of circuit it is.

It's a great decoy no doubt. I just couldn't find one that would work. I got one for christmas and returned it because it was defective. Walked back to where they were on the rack and popped some batteries in 6 other ones and they all did the same thing.

They would spin around one full time at the most and stop and you could see and feel where it wanted to keep spinning but it didn't. All it did was vibrate...
