What do you like or dislike regarding rear mounted monopods on sporter stocks. Was looking for a Muleypod but seems they are no longer available. Want something with a fair amount of adjustment available, thx

I tried a promos monopod for calling dogs and quickly went to the bipod which was better but I exchanged it for the tripod version (triggerstick model) and couldn't imagine being happier. One of the best purchases I've made. I don't think a monopod is worth carrying IMO, a bipod [beeep]'s almost as well and has decent stability, tripods are even better, I've shot some nice groups off mine. Also depends on How I was hunting, for stalking deer I'd probably go bipod [beeep]

Thx for the reply but I asked about a rear mounted mono, not front mounted

What do you use on the front of the rifle sticks or a bi-pod?

I can't imagine having a mono-pod on the back of the rifle for hunting situations. It just seems like a mono-pod on the rear of the rifle would be in the way and really slow things down when trying to get a shot off quickly.

Harris swivel bipod on front. Laying prone in a prarie dog town, using my clinched fist to raise or lower rear of stock to get on target, at 77 yrs of age is not as easy or steady as it once was, need all the help I can get at 300 yards or more
