You ever decide to come out here for a spring bear hunt i can put in the right spot,in my opinion the majority of our great bear country is all public lands. Our bear hunting is all spot and stalk so it isnt real popular with the outofstate crowds, most guys who are going to pay to hunt bear want to sit over a bait and be picky, not spend a week hikin through snow drifts, there is very little traffic during our spring season.Season opens april 15 but they realy start movin around May 1st.You have to purchase your tag before the season begins for the spring and the fall season.

I would like to get a bear someday. I only had 1 chance and blew the shot. The day after I missed him one of the hunters I was guiding got him. We had 5 bear hunters that spring and all 5 got good bears. All were takin on the forest.

South of Big Timber, mostly we hunted up the West Boulder river. We hunted on the main and East Boulder also. Alot of bear. Running M outfitters. Now it is Double Creek outfitters, he moved to the 2-dot area. Big Timber filled up with miners and rich people.
I would see bear all through the summer while taking fish trips with guests. In the fall we would always have 1 guest fill his bear tag, while we elk hunted in the back country of Hell Roaring, close to the park.
