I just got done looking through all of the regulations and it does not state anything about night hunting or spotlighting for non-game animals. It clearly states in the regulations that it is unlawful to use a spotlight or night vision in the taking of game animals. Coyotes, weasel, skunk, badger, raccoon, red fox, hares, rabbits, ground squirrels, marmots, tree squirrels and porcupines fall under the classification of predador and nongame species. So I would conclude that it is not unlawful in the state of Montana to spotlight or night hunt in any regard for predator and nongame species.
If you find any regulations, laws, ect. that state otherwise then I would like to know also.
Thanks.
