More Osage Orange Fence Post Calls

I have two more Osage Orange wood calls for sale. Great looking calls turned from the center of the branches from an old “hedge apple” tree in Kansas. The hedge apple trees in Kansas have produced some of the hardest fence post around. Just ask anyone who has fixed fence and tried to hammer a staple in one!! These two calls have a little more character than the other calls I have made from the same wood. The one on the left is a darker orange and does not have the iridescence like the other calls but is still a nice piece of wood.
Calls are $22 each TYD..

That round spot in the little one is where a sticker was. Get'n one of those stick in ya hurts for days.. Nice work.. Should wear like iron..

Left call...very interesting color to that wood!!
Right call...man, I love the charachter the knot gives it!!

And you ain't foolin' about tryin' to drive fencing staples into hedge. Just the thought of that brings back both good & bad memories of my "younger" days on our farm.
If you hit the staple straight, it might go in, or it might just bend the staple like a pretsel. But hit it off-center, & that staple was more likely to fly off like a richoceting bullet into the wide blue yonder.Hahaha

Thanks for all the nice comments on the Fence Post calls. Next to some nice lamiante this is fast becoming my fovorite wood. Almost as hard to turn as it is to drive a staple in it!!
