Morgan Freeman or Tyler Perry?

This may be irrellivent [sp] to most, but as a long-time fan of James Patterson's Alex Cross novels, it intriques me.

I've always liked the films Along Came A Spider & Kiss The Girls.
Both of those movies Starred Morgan freeman, as Alex Cross.

Just moments ago, I saw the trailer for the new Alex Cross movie, with Tyler Perry in the starring role this time.
Granted, this movie is set in a time before the first two films, so a younger actor was needed.

But, I'll be interested to see if Perry can bring the same intensity of the character to the screen.

Anyone else curious?

I hope I'm wrong, but Tyler has got a long way to go before he is in the same caliber as Morgan Freeman. Morgan is one of the best ones out there. Should be interesting.
