Here is what the 32nd edition of Fjestad's Blue Book of Gun Values has to say......

640K is a 22mag, single shot, bolt action, walnut monte carlo stock, pistol grip, cheek piece, sling swivels, 24" bbl, 44 3/4" over all, open rear sight, post front, 6lbs, mfg 1959-1984

Doesnt show a "kd" or a "kc" there is a "KS" and it has deluxe cherecking and a gold trigger mfg 1960-1968

Thats all I could find....

I also have a KD chuckster.....it is a tack driver. I am going to buy another when I have the opportunity. The one I have was my Grandfathers and I really don't like exposing to the rough conditions of predator hunting in the snow here in PA.

Don't know the difference. Probably checkering and such. I know that the magazines all interchange as well as parts and such.

Mine is a KA in 22 Magnum. It shoots great, but the bolt handle sometimes doesn't stay all the way down causing a FTF. Other than that it is a great little Magnum.

When I think of back east wood chuck rifles I think Chuckster! Some will say 22 hornet or 222, but for me its small farms in the east and keeping the chucks out of the beans, its chuckster all the way! And I bet many an old wood chuck was killed by the mossberg 640 chuckster.
