The Mossberg MVP LC in .223/5.56 seems like a good fit (6 grandkids) because of the adjustability of LOP (11.25" to 14.5") and low recoil.

I know nothing about the Mossberg MVP (any of the models) so looking for feedback.

Thanks

I own a MVP patrol in .308 and have friends who own various models in 6.5 creedmore and .223 Likely about a dozen all told that I have been around . No matter the caliber the action feels " rough " feeding from the box magazine The triggers are about like the savage or ruger adjustable ones with the dingleberry on them not bad but nothing special imo . Stock ergonomics are well there lol . I have yet to see one shoot any bigger group than 1.5 moa with ammo it likes and a couple of the .223s would group a half moa with match ammo .and no mods , right out of the box . I have seen one .308 and one 6.5 loose their extractors from the bolt in the field . but that is all the actual mechanical issues I have seen .
All in all they seem to be a pretty good budget rifle to me that will deliver more than you really should expect from them at the price point . If however you are expecting them to feel , shoot , or have the finish of a sako , tikka , CZ , ect they will be a disappointment .

I had one in 223. Believe it was the MVP model. Been a while but it had a laminate stock and feed from a mag. I agree with all FarmDad said. Bolt was rough and the trigger....Meh! I will say that it actually shot pretty good with my hand loads.
