Go to Wally World and get a set of Leupold Rifleman see-thru mounts for a Weaver base. They run about $17 and will put the scope at the right level for shooting. I've got a 3-9x40 on my flat top and there's room for a bigger, ie. 44mm, objective scope. You can remove the scope from the rifle and re-install it w/out rezeroing it. MI VHNTR
