Mouth calls and night hunting....

I'm a little new to predator hunting, but have been pretty successfull so far. All have been shot over a Foxpro, but I feel I'd have more success with a mouth call, as I've had it work several times and it sounds more realistic to me. All the movement involved worries me though. I'd appreciate any and all tips or opinions on this!
Also looking for any tips to specifically target a bobcat this year. Tricky critters to hunt...Any opinions or info on VA Bobcats would be appreciated!

I usually tone it down when hand calling at night. I don't get near as agressive on the call (nor the volume). You should easily be able to call one handed without alot of movement.

PS. I agree, I have much better luck with hand calls at night.

Another tip, once you see them, don't kill the light. Keep them in the halo until you shoot them.

Do you guys prefer electronic or mouth calls??? I gather electronic calls work fine with the foxes, but I've heard Coyotes are hard to respond to elecs.

I honestly believe that if a predator is going to come to the call, he's going to come. It doesn't matter if it's electronics or hand calls. Either are nothing but a tool The trick is to find the right tool that works for you...not against you.

I only hunt at night out of state, but want the coyote looking at me, and I run the light the whole stand. Charge between.

I usually partner up for night stands, and take turns lighting and shooting.

Hand calls keep them looking and coming at me. When they show up I stop calling. A little squeeker or lipsqueek will usually keep them coming if they hang up.

As mentioned above, just enough halo on the dog to see him in your scope.

Yes hand calls rule, but I've done OK with electronics.

If I had to pick one ....... handcalls.
