mp3 battery life?

Hello , new to the forum's been lurking trying to pick up info and have a question.
I see some people are using mp3 players for calling and was wondering what kind of battery life you are getting. Also are you using an amp to get more volume or relying on the mp3 volume?
I have a Johnny Stewart 612 deluxe caller and was thinking i may be able to use the speaker with an adapter. What do you think?
All help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
Dan

I have a Sansa Clip MP3 player. On Saturday I made 4 stands and used Varmint Al's 20 minute sequence on each stand and still had plenty of battery life left. I am using an amp, I have rigged up my amp with a small 12 volt battery and a speaker out of an old fire alarm horn it has plenty of volume. I need to post some pics of my caller.

songdogdown, Yes you do need to post pics of your caller.

On a lighter note I am not too happy with power consumption I am using a Coby 256mb mp3 3 20 min. stands and the batt meter is flashing. looking for something better.

I use an RCA Lyra MP3 with a small Cass Creek amplified speaker. The MP3 battery is good for about 3 long days of hunting and the Cass Creek speaker batteries last a loooong time. I only change them 2-3 times a year. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
