Mueller Optics

I am not familar with Mueller optics but a friend of mine recommended them. I have been a Leupold guy but man they are pricy. Was just wondering if any of you guys had used them. I know in optics you usually get what you pay for as far as quality. Any feedback would be appreciated as I'm needing another scope to top a CZ 527 .204. Thanks, Wade

You'll get mixed reviews on Mueller. Personally, I've had bad luck with them. Use the search button and search for "MUELLER" and you'll get a list of threads to read....

I'm a Nikon guy through and through personally. A ProStaff 3-9 will run you about what a decent Mueller will. The Nikon however has never had any questions on their QC.

I own a Mueller and it's OK. It's not a Nikon, but it was less than half the price of a good Monarch. I've had pretty good luck with repeatability. Clarity wise, I have a Scheels scope that was more expensive, but I prefer the Mueller. If you have the money, I'd put it on a Nikon, but if you need something quickly and cheap, the Mueller will do a decent job for you.

I don't think the Mueller is a good choice. Clarity is so so around the edges.

In low light the Mueller is terrible.. Especially if you are use to looking through Nikon, Leupold, or Burris in low light. I bought one some time ago and it did not last long.. Sold it and got another Nikon....

I have a Mueller sport dot works great I use it on my night hunting gun. I've never had problem in low light conditions.
I have many other scopes Nikon, Burris, Leupold. Maybe I'm just old and blind but for the money it a nice scope very clear no blur holds zero. Anyway just my 2 cents. Good Luck Chris,

I had one and sold it. The guy that bought it from me likes it well enough however. Lack of eye relief was an issue with me as well.

I am spoiled by the better scopes that are out there I will admit. The Mueller was an OK scope, but that about it.

I have two, their Eradicator MilDot (6.5-24x?) and their illuminated dot Multi-Shot 2-7x...

The Eradicator wound up with some spots on the inside of the objective lens that looked like dried water, I sent it in and they had a new one to me in about 10 days....at no cost other than the $12 shipping fees..

The Multi=Shot I use in action competitions and it received fairly rough treatment and I have no complaints.

While there are "better" optics at higher prices, these work well for my needs... as I very seldom am shooting in low light.

I also have two Sightrons that are a little more money, but much better quality, without getting into the 'high' dollar optics...

I have the Mueller 4-16X50 Tactical AO Mil-Dot, and I did have a problem with my first one. They replaced the scope in one week, and this one has been fine for 2 years now. I only noticed edge clarity problems in the higher powered 8.5-25X50 I tried above 20X. I liked the fact it will parallax adjust down to 15 yards (50 yds minimum for the Leupold) for rimfire use. At less than 1/3 the price of my Leupold VX-III 6.5-20X50 it is still a bargain.

I have a 3x10 Sport Dot that is illuminated. I mounted it on a Dtech 6x45, and have used it three seasons. No problems yet, has held zero, and I love the illuminated dot.

There are indeed clearer scopes out there; Leupold for instance, and I have a few Nikons as well. I have more Leupolds than any other, but the Mueller in my experience is a great scope for calling. I just wish that one of the big-name scope makers would produce the same type reticle as the Mueller has, at an affordable price. I may be dreaming on that last statement.

From my understanding, Mueller is quick to repair or replace anything defective, but I can't say that first hand since I haven't had any problems with mine. I do realize that some other people have had problems.

For a scope costing $150, it's a good one in my opinion. I especially love the dot reticle and I give it credit for dumping a coyote on the run at 80-100 yards. To date I've taken 2 coyotes and 4 bobcats with that rifle / scope combination. For now, it's staying on my Dtech, or until such a time as I can find a better scope - with the same dot illuminated dot reticle and one that I can more easily afford.

Have had 2 Muellers on two different long bull barrel
guns (both 223 bolt guns) and was extatic about how
they performed for return to zero and low light. Crisp
and the paralex for my (old) eyes was comfortable adj.

I've spent 4x as much on "insert overpriced scope maker"
and not had as nice and crisp daybreak vision, in cold
and damp opening gun/deer season. My last doe was shot
on a dare from my hunting buddies in a horrible wet 20*
day at a few hundred yrds with my little girly rifle,
no fog in lens she dropped with a double lung and heart
when we were all whining about the foul weather. It did
outstanding, good scopes I wish I had one available last
month for my new gun.
