Mueller Rifle Scopes-anyone have an opinion

I was looking at a 4x16x50 with a Red Dot(lighted) type crosshair. Are they more like a Tasco/BSA or more like a Bushnell as far as quality goes?

I would put the Muellers in the class around the Bushnell Elite 3200 and the Nikon Buckmaster. Very nice quality with clear optics. For an illuminated style reticle scope, well worth the money.

I bought the plain Jane 3.5 x 10x Mueller scope off ebay for an excellent price. What little bit
I have had to work with it I have been impressed by. Very clear, repeatable adjustments....the true test comes in a few days out on the prairie. If I had to do it over I would have purchased the illuminated reticle model instead.

I have a couple Mueller APV 4x14's that are good for whistle pigs. They are the best bang for the buck scope in each of the price ranges

I love my Mueller! Have a 4-14 on my Savage Predator. Last summer on a p-dog hunt with my brother and he was using two Leupold's on an AR and a super sweet Cooper. Anyway, after trading guns back and forth, he commented on how my whole rig didn't cost as much as one of his scopes but it really didn't make much difference to the prairie dogs, they were still just as splattered!

I have the 8.5-25x50mm Eraticator and it has been an excellent scope. It has the illuminated recticle and Adjustable Objective. Its too heavy for a walking around rig, but for a supported varmint rifle it is a very good scope. Best cost vs. performance scope out there.

Pruson, I have the 3-10x44 sport dot on my night hunting gun (.204 rem700). I love it 1/8" moa adjustments and 1/8" moa red dot at 100 yards are great. The dot dont cover up small targets long distance. I would not trade mine for another scope.

Chris,

I'm a Muller believer. I own four. They replaced some Banners that I had on a few guns and one found a home on my new (9 months old) AR. For the cost they IMHO are unbeatable.

I have an eraticator and a mil dot tactical mueller....I beat them both every year, and they are still dead on, and still clear as a bell. I am in the process of replacing my "also-ran" scopes with Muellers, which I feel are right up there with weaver, bushnell's upper end, and even some of the loopys.

I can't say anything negative at all about my muellers. I love em. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Jon, I always had a lot of respect for you until I read THAT statement.

I have had 3 Muellers, and they ALL had problems. Two lost seals, and the other one wouldn't hold zero. I replaced them all and will not own another one. While Mueller DID replace them quickly and at no charge, I am not willing to trust them anymore. When I go out the door with my rifle, I need to know it is going to shoot where I point it.

As for the statement putting them in the same class with a Nikon Buckmaster.......not even anywhere close. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I made this post almost four years ago come this spring, bought it have sent it on down the road looking for a new home since then.

See how renewed interest gets things going again?

So, you are able to write your own review about a scope you asked about 4 years ago. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Outstanding! (How many places can you do that!?) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

i love my mueller too. I got the 4-14 APV and its sweet. On top of my Ruger .243, i wouldnt trade it away. ANd for $114.99, how could you go wrong.

I didn't care for it. It wasn't as clear as I am used to, and I had difficulty with mine focusing.

I currently have four Leupold VX-III 4.5x14x50 Heavy Duplex on calling rifles. I've found I like the heavy lines, especially at night. The clarity is superb and 4.5X is low enough for me to have a good field of view.

Yeah! I know, why do you need four calling rifles. It is called indecision. Actually I have one just for fox, one for fox and coyotes sometimes, one for coyotes and nothing else, and one that's still a project in progress-17 AH on a Browning A Bolt frame and action. You can't have to many.

Joe, WHEN the sales were taking place is a non-issue. The comparison to Nikon is still absurd at best. I owned 3 Muellers, and I currently own 6 Nikons. Based on first-hand experience with both products, I can assure you that they are not anywhere close to the same quality. That would be like comparing Nikon to a Schmidt/Bender or a Zeiss.

I understand that the post was made during the time that Jon was selling Mueller. And I know that Mueller is not one of his current products. Knowing the kind of man that Jon is, I'm sure that he had good reason for dropping the line.

I have bought from Jon before and I will possibly buy from him again. He's a good businessman and great to deal with.

But that still doesn't change the incorrectness of the statement. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

I have a mueller apv 4.5 -14 ... so far very happy with it . No problems at all. Even opened my passenger door of my truck and the rifle fell on the ground. It is still going strong. been using it on my 22 mag for 1 year now.

If you have a problem mueller will send you a new scope right away and probably not ask for the old one back.

if you want to learn more about mueller scopes check out rimfire central forums. The 4.5-14 was designed by mueller by getting together with these rimfire guys and asking what they want in an all purpose variable.

check out mizzo mule guns i think it is . Got mine shipped to the door for like 108 dollars. good prices and good service. not sure if they carry the whole line or just apv.
